{"id":646,"date":"2015-10-02T17:28:32","date_gmt":"2015-10-02T17:28:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/florida.qlarant.com\/?p=646"},"modified":"2023-01-25T17:29:21","modified_gmt":"2023-01-25T17:29:21","slug":"best-practices-provider-9","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/florida.qlarant.com\/?p=646","title":{"rendered":"Best Practices &#8211; Provider"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Submission date:<\/strong> 10-2-15<br \/>\n<strong>Submitted by: <\/strong>Berta Santos<br \/>\n<strong>Provider name:<\/strong> Emily C Moises Adult Day Training Center<br \/>\n<strong>APD Area:<\/strong> Southern, 11<\/p>\n<div class=\"CollapsiblePanelContent\">\n<p><strong>Practice:<\/strong>\u200b \u200bEmily C Moises Adult Day Training\u00a0(ADT)Center,\u00a0under the direction of Nieves Moises, partnered with the local Arts Council to create painting classes and paintings expositions where individuals\/artists are able to sell their work.\u00a0\u00a0The artists are paid directly.\u00a0\u00a0The ADT has also created an embroidery circle after an individual expressed a strong interest in learning how\u00a0 to\u00a0embroider.\u00a0\u00a0The works were sold online and individuals received whatever they charged for their work..\u00a0\u00a0This\u00a0year\u00a0artists in a painting class are working on a group\u00a0project to develop a &#8220;Rights Wall&#8221; with separate individual paintings which will visually\u00a0\u00a0depict\u00a0<span id=\"ms-rterangepaste-start\"> <\/span>all of the individual rights\u00a0 on the &#8220;Bill of Rights&#8221;\u00a0and<span id=\"ms-rterangepaste-end\"> <\/span>\u00a0topics about rights issues .\u00a0\u00a0The paintings\u00a0and\u00a0&#8220;the\u00a0Rights Wall&#8221;\u00a0\u00a0will be used\u00a0to educate\u00a0the Individuals at the Center and be included in weekly activities, holidays and functions.<\/p>\n<p><strong> Who Benefits? How? <\/strong>Individuals who attend the Center, as well as individuals who visit the center will benefit.\u00a0 The visual depiction in bright colors and large size will make it easier to see and understand for all who view the wall and\u00a0will make\u00a0learning about rights\u00a0meaningful.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How could others apply this in practice?<\/strong> \u200b\u200bAny\u00a0Provider can benefit from making learning interactive and fun.
